Key facts

  • Yayasan Selangor is separate from the State Secretary’s loan fund. Its FAQ lists diploma loans up to RM8,000 per year and degree loans up to RM10,000 per year, subject to institution and approval.[1]
  • YPJ’s live Johor table shows public-institution diploma loans RM4,000–RM6,000 per year, up to three years, and degree loans RM6,000–RM7,000 per year, up to four years. It marks applications closed when checked.[2]
  • Yayasan Terengganu’s live directory says no applications currently open, while listing domestic diploma/degree full and top-up loan schemes. A scheme’s presence in the directory is not an open application window.[3]

Entry, intake and duration

YS requires a qualifying Selangor birth/parent/residence connection, Malaysian citizenship and family per-capita income below RM3,000 monthly. Its standing offer is for full-time recognised domestic diploma/degree study and disallows other sponsorship. The FAQ explains that applications are accepted when an advert is issued; the next dated window is not published there.[1][4]

YPJ requires birth and residence in Johor, an offer/current study, a recognised full-time course, at least one year remaining and parents’ combined income no more than RM10,000 monthly. It prioritises lower per-capita income and permits only one sponsorship at a time. Meeting minimum rules does not guarantee approval.[2]

Terengganu’s directory does not supply a complete common income/grade/domicile rule or universal funding amount. Open the exact scheme in its official application system and request its conditions; do not borrow another state’s rules.[3]

Costs, salary and source differences

YPJ describes its loan as interest-free (0%). That rate does not apply automatically to other foundations. Ask each sponsor about fees, full repayment, renewal and exactly how long the offer funds you; the annual maximum is not proof all costs are covered.[2][1][3]

Source differences: indexed summaries showed older Johor amounts and a Terengganu closing date, but the directly opened official pages showed the amounts and closed statuses above on 23 October 2026. Use the live page and current advert, and confirm again before applying. First salary: not published by these loan schemes.[2][3]

What this means for you

A foundation’s name does not make its support a grant. One state can have several funds. Compare agreements and the cash your family needs before payment, with help from the sponsor and school counsellor.

Your next step

Save your family’s state and income documents. Request the current scheme sheet, approved institution list, dates, full financial schedule and repayment conditions before signing.
