Key facts
PTPTN is a loan for approved local study, covering some or all tuition and living costs. A university offer is not by itself PTPTN approval.[1]
For a full-time public-institution diploma, the table lists annual ceilings of RM4,750 maximum, RM3,560 at the 75% tier and RM2,380 at the 50% tier. These are annual amounts, not cash promised at registration.[1]
Ujrah is a 1% annual flat-rate charge. Read the agreement for total repayment and applicable takaful or other charges; a loan is not a grant.[2]
Entry, intake and duration
The application page requires Malaysian citizenship, age no more than 45, an eligible offer and PTPTN-registered course, at least one semester remaining and a Simpan SSPN account. It also lists debt-agency account restrictions.[1]
The income eligibility cap is parents’/guardians’ gross monthly income RM50,000 after deducting RM250 per dependant. The amount tier uses a different test: STR recipients can receive the maximum; without STR, income at or below RM8,000 gives the 75% tier, otherwise 50%.[1]
There is no single nationwide intake deadline on this page. Ask your institution for the exact course’s application batch, payment dates and approved funding duration. Applying later does not establish retrospective funding.[1]
Costs, salary and source differences
Public/private and foundation/diploma ceilings have different scopes. No unresolved contradiction was found in the cited public-diploma table. Use the published rounded amounts rather than calculating a percentage yourself. First salary: not published by this loan scheme.[1]
What this means for you
List registration, hostel, food, travel and devices by payment date. Add only confirmed aid dates. Discuss any early cash gap with the financial-aid office; the annual ceiling cannot tell you whether borrowing fits your family.
Your next step
Ask the institution to confirm PTPTN registration for your exact course, your application batch and first disbursement. Compare the loan offer with the full fee bill before signing.
