Key facts

  • Checked 24 October 2026. This page separates an announcement from an effective rule and a confirmed application deadline.
  • The published wage-order reference is RM1,700 monthly basic pay.[1]
  • Budget 2027 announced RM2,000 from June 2027, with an exemption for MSMEs with annual sales below RM50 million. Verify a new instrument, scope and effective date before relying on it.[2]

Wage policy: announcement versus entitlement

The Finance Ministry's speech is a primary source for what was announced. It is not itself evidence that an employer is already obliged to pay the new amount. Keep the current-order and announcement figures separate on route cards and the first-salary simulator. Record the source date and the date you will start work. Recheck the Human Resources Ministry's order and implementing guidance before accepting an offer.

UPU and SPM: the cycle matters

The retrieved UPU portal still displays 2026/27 information. That does not confirm 2027/28 dates or categories. Do not copy a previous opening, offer or appeal date into your calendar as an official new-cycle deadline.[3]

We did not find a confirmed SPM 2026 results date in the KPM media statements checked for this refresh. An examination timetable is not a results announcement. Monitor KPM and the examinations authority; do not provide identity details to unofficial result sites.[4]

Scholarship and funding windows

MARA's standing preparatory-funding page explains a scheme and eligibility, but does not establish an open 2027 application window. Obtain the dated current-cycle notice before relying on a deadline, age condition or income threshold.[5]

JPA's sponsorship portal could not be retrieved during this check. Its 2027 window is not verified here. Check JPA sponsorship(opens in a new tab) directly; a failed retrieval is not evidence that applications are closed. Check institution and state-foundation schemes separately. Do not assume “B40” alone establishes eligibility or that aid arrives before registration.

What this means for you

For every consequential date, write the intake year, status (officially open, announced, historical reference, or not yet verified), primary-source link, checked date and action. Keep cash needed before aid arrives separate from the total award. Mark unavailable new-cycle information unknown; never invent a deadline or replace it with last year's date.

Your next step

Bookmark UPU, KPM, JPA and MARA. Check weekly while preparing, then follow the cadence in the current-cycle notice once published. Before submitting or accepting, reopen the official notice and verify documents, eligibility and the final time. Ask the First Move team to recheck a changed or unavailable source. This page must be refreshed when a new order, circular or funding notice appears.
