ILP and ADTEC: match the entry route, not just the course name

Compare a Kota Kinabalu certificate with Shah Alam diplomas, including a real disability-support contradiction.

Key facts

  • Certificate example: ADTEC JTM Kampus Kota Kinabalu, also labelled ILP Kota Kinabalu, lists Computer Networking certificate F02 at SKM Level 3 for 21 months. The catalogue uses both old and new campus labels.[1]
  • Diploma example: Shah Alam’s SPM-entry Mechatronics DAME04 lists 34 months. Its SKM-entry DAME34 lists 12 months and needs a relevant SKM Level 3. A shorter progression course is not the same offer for a fresh SPM leaver.[2][3]
  • Current window: UP_TVET Siri 1/2027 opened 1 October 2026; interview-course applications close 6 November, non-interview courses 16 November 2026. Check which category your course uses.[4]

Entry rules differ

Both example listings require Malaysian citizenship and age 17–35. F02 shows Form 5 completion or an alternative reading/writing-and-interest route. DAME04 requires passes in BM, History, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, and another listed subject, with practical-work health conditions. Check the complete table for the exact code.[1][2]

Costs and access support

F02 advertises free tuition, accommodation and meals, RM100 monthly pocket money and RM300 monthly practical allowance. Shah Alam’s official site lists diploma tuition RM1,500 per semester and hostel RM308 per semester. These are different campus/qualification offers; verify the itemised bill, eligibility and first payment date.[1][5]

Access support and admission are different checks: the current F02 page, checked on 24 October 2026, lists practical-work health requirements and separately advertises an OKU allowance of RM300 a month. Report both terms as written; an allowance line does not confirm an individual applicant’s admission. The earlier conflict label is superseded by this scoped account, not by an individual eligibility ruling. Send the campus your actual access needs and ask for written confirmation of reasonable support and the relevant practical requirements before choosing a course.[1]

First salary: a verified first-salary range for these exact courses is not published in the checked listings. Career titles in a catalogue are not promises of a particular job or pay.[1][2]

What this means for you

Start with a task you want to try, such as troubleshooting a network or maintaining an automated system. Ask the campus what students actually practise, how industrial training is arranged and which qualification you leave with.

Your next step

Save the course code and full Info Kursus page before submitting in UP_TVET. Confirm whether it is SPM-entry or skills progression, the interview deadline, full costs and any access support with the campus.

Current F02 separately states practical-work health requirements and an OKU allowance of RM300 a month. These are admission requirements and a benefit listing, not a general assurance that every applicant is eligible. Individual eligibility and accommodations require campus confirmation.
